Institute CIM for Sustainable Innovation


Established in 1992 as the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) Center of Italian Switzerland, since January 1st 1998 ICIMSI is the Institute for computer applied sciences and industrial technologies of SUPSI (University of Applied Science of Southern Switzerland). Since 1994 the Institute is located in the technological pole of Lugano-Manno. In 2006 the name has been changed reinforcing the goal of Sustainable Innovation, and the new Director (Prof. Claudio R. Boër) has taken the leadership by starting an intense international scientific cooperation, in particular with many European countries, China and Mexico. The Institute has researchers and engineers with many years of experience in technology transfer and application of innovative technologies in industry.
ICIMSI has become a strong and reliable partner in national and European projects. It is the only Institute of a University of Applied Science in Switzerland that is Project coordinators of the two FP7 (Framework Program 7th of the European Commission) projects.
