ICIMSI offers education and research activities focused on the development of new products, employing virtual prototyping techniques in parallel with the study of advanced materials, as well as on the design of new manufacturing systems and processes.
Education also takes some fundamental issues which are directly related to the economic health of industry, including productivity, cost, quality and lead time, as well as sustainable development.
In this interdisciplinary education type program, where the emphasis is on practical application and hands-on experience, students are prepared for the professional practice and are exposed to a full range of engineering functions. They are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for the design of new products and for the design, operation and improvement of manufacturing and related information systems. The required skills include management, virtual reality tools, manufacturing technologies, material science and simulation from nano to full real dimension.
